University of Karachi is the largest public sector university in Sindh province and is the only general education university in Karachi. Karachi University was established in 1945 which provides higher level education from bachelor to PhD level to the students of Karachi and its nearby areas. KU provides education in different faculties and disciplines including engineering, medicine, Islamic Studies, commerce, IT, law, medicine, life sciences, fisheries and others and every year thousands of students complete their studies from KU in these and other disciplines. HEC ranks Karachi University among the top ten universities of Pakistan in general education.

Karachi University starts admissions in different classes according to a schedule. These admissions starts according to the exams of different classes while the admission process starts couple of months before the start of the regular classes in order to complete the admission and registration of new students in time.

Karachi University issues the model papers almost every year in order to guide students about the new paper pattern and syllabus adopted by the board. Students can take these model papers from the official site of the board while they can take past papers from the markets which help them to know about important questions of the exams.

KU issues the date sheets couple of months before the start of the exams which describe the complete examination schedule. These date sheets can be seen and downloaded from the official site of the university. Karachi University mails the roll number slips of regular and private students to their related institutes and mentioned addresses respectively one month before the start of the exams. Roll number slips provide information about roll numbers, examination time table, venue etc. to the students.

Two or three months after the exams, KU announces the results of the exams. Result announcement of different classes and departments are announces according to the number of students and complexity of the subjects. Results are uploaded at the official site of the university soon after the result announcement while the result cards are dispatched to the students also.
